Project Description

This project focuses on porting and testing the firmware of the control system of a Cable-Driven Parallel Robot currently running on a laptop PC to a Raspberry Pi and on integrating the necessary hardware elements. The aim is to improve the compactness of the system and enhance the user experience by adding interactive functionality.

Prerequisites

  • Fundamentals of programming (Fondamenti di Informatica T)

Target Objectives

  • Study of Real-Time Operating Systems
  • Study of Real-Time communication protocols
  • Study of ROS2 and tests on Linux PC
  • Study and programming tests on Raspberry Pi
  • Installation of the existing features on Raspberry Pi
  • Hardware testing
  • Current firmware testing and HMI improvements.

Expected Results

  • Knowledge of Operating Systems for robotic applications
  • Learning techniques for hardware/software troubleshooting in mechatronics applications
